THE WINTER SEASON IS UPON US!
The winter season is rapidly approaching. There are two items the Village would like you to consider.
1) If there is a forecast of snow or ice for the area, when possible, please park your vehicles in the driveway. The snow plow needs room to maneuver and the snow needs to go somewhere. If your vehicle is in the street, it will get plowed in. And look at it this way, there will not be any snow where the vehicles are parked so less to shovel!
2) Who doesn't like a warm car in frigid temperatures? But, if you warm up your car before venturing out and you are not sitting in it, be sure to lock it up! A running car is an invitation for theft! Lock up your car!

New St. Louis County COVID Guidelines

St. Louis County COVID-19 Update
Public Health Orders
As announced by County Executive Dr. Page this morning, COVID-19 cases have been surging in St. Louis County over the past couple of weeks, just as they have around the country. In response to the increase in community transmission and the strain on our healthcare system, new public health orders have been announced and will go into effect at on Tuesday, November 17th. Those orders are the following:
“Safer at Home”: This order means that you must stay at home unless it is necessary to leave for specific activities such as going to work or school, seeking medical care, or buying food or other daily necessities. Exceptions are made for going to church, for visiting family members, and for care for those who need assistance, including children.
The order prohibits any gathering of more than 10 people, which is down from the current limit of 50%. Restaurants cannot offer indoor dining. Outdoor dining, take-out, and delivery are allowed. Bars may only provide carryout and delivery. Businesses must reduce their capacity from 50% of the maximum allowed by the fire code to 25%. If you must meet outside of your household, please do so in organized support bubble of no more than 10 people total, including family members or friends. These groups must be established, and even when a group gathers, all participants should practice masking, social distancing and other steps to reduce the risk of transmission. And if any member of the group gets sick, that person must immediately notify the other members. Additional details and the order in full can be found online here.
Please click on the "underlined" text in the body of the story for more information.
Practicing these simple guidelines will minimize your exposure to the virus, thereby protecting you and your family.

Face masks: Face coverings must be worn by anyone over the age of 5, in any indoor setting outside of your home, including when at work, when frequenting businesses, or when gathering if you are with people who live outside of your household. Included in this order is everyone at a gym, including those who are working out, participants in organized sports, when not actively playing in a game and students in a school setting. Additional details and the full order can be found online here.
Isolation and Quarantine changes: Due to the drastic increase in new cases, DPH is acknowledging that cases may not be contacted quickly enough. DPH Staff is reaching out to as many people as possible with a focus on those who are most likely to spread the virus to others, but will not get to everyone. Therefore, residents who test positive must immediately self-isolate and tell everyone that they were in close contact with to quarantine. Instructions for isolation and quarantine can be found online here.
Please also be sure to check out the FAQ portion of the new orders here: What are the New Public Health Orders and What do They Mean for Me?
Pop-Up Flu Vaccines and COVID-19 Testing
In additional to the public health orders, testing and getting a flu shot is absolutely imperative for not only your health but the safety of your loved ones and the community. However, like COVID-19, the flu is a respiratory illness. It is possible to get flu and COVID-19 at the same time. That’s why it's important to take steps to prevent both diseases. Appointments are required for both COVID-19 testing and flu vaccines. Click here to make a reservation. Please note the latest pop-up testing locations:

Do Your Part To Fight Spread of COVID

Everyone Should
Wash your hands often
-
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
-
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
Avoid close contact
-
Outside your home: Put 6 feet of distance between yourself and people who don’t live in your household.
-
Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus.
-
Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people.
-
Keeping distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
-
Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others
-
You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick.
-
The mask is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
-
Everyone should wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Do you need to up your Grilling & BBQ game?
Then check out a new Marlborough business...
STL BBQ Store!
Here is their story...
"Nothing beats a perfectly grilled pork steak on Memorial Day weekend or tender St. Louis style ribs on the 4th of July. At our house, in the middle of winter when many have covered their grills for months, the aroma of slow-cooked brisket lingers in from the patio. Good cooks, delicious food and quality time with family are part of our heritage.
What began over 30 years ago as leisurely experimenting with a variety of grills and smokers to enjoy mouth-watering BBQ steadily evolved into a desire to share the best products and cooking techniques with everyone. Our passion for smoking meat led to attending and participating in the BBQ competition circuit. Through the competitive BBQ circuit our knowledge and experience increased using all different styles of cookers and smokers from the best brands in the industry. In 2007, we started as an authorized Backwoods Smoker dealer and have expanded our product lineup each year since then.
You can rest assured that our intimate knowledge of the cookers, smokers, BBQs, and accessories is second to none. Although we no longer compete, we are actively involved in competition BBQ and supply many competitors with their equipment. We stay up-to-date within the industry and are on top of the tricks and trends in the world of big BBQ. If you have questions about any of the products we carry please don't hesitate to pick up the phone, we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have."

CAR CLOUTING
There have been incidents of car clouting reported all over the St. Louis County and City.
Car clouting is a smash and grab crime. It, also, occurs when a driver leaves the car unlocked, or windows down, or anything that makes the car accessible. This is easy for those who want to take your belongings. All they have to do is just reach in and take your possessions. No alarms go off alerting people of a break-in.
Easy way to prevent this from happening to you...
LOCK YOU CAR NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE PARKED, EVEN YOUR DRIVEWAY!
Future Heege Road Project

St. Louis County will be conduction another construction project on Heege Road in the upcoming future. Dates are unknown at this time.
During the first phase of the project, Heege Road will be closed between Birkenhead Road and Valcour Avenue. While in the second phase of the construction, Heege Road will be open, but with provisions to handle the traffic.
Watch this site for updates for dates and the timeframe. This is not a Marlborough project.

Door to Door Solicitations

DOOR TO DOOR SOLICITATION continues to be an issue in the village. Please know that in recent years, the Board of Trustees updated an ordinance regulating door to door salesman and solicitors has been updated.
Anyone knocking on your door to sell you something is required to have a license issued by the Village and a photo ID.
If they don't, call our neighborhood police at the non-emergency number 636.529-8210. If you prefer not to be bothered, place a "No Soliciting" or "No Trespassing" sign on your front entrance.
